In the spring of 2007 I did an installation at The Purple Chopstix Restaurant.

Behind the back deck there is a creek with bridge crossing into the
woods. To me, this creek reminded me very much of one that I used to frequent
when I was younger and I wanted to do a project with it. To me, the building
of a dinning space underneath the bridge was a challenge to the way we isolate
certain experiences.

While wadding through the creek might give one the impressionof adventure,
sitting down to eat has a more domestic connotation, thus causing dissonance
when sitting down at thisparticular table for a meal.

Further more, a bridge is a means for us to overcome anobstacle, but in this
case I made people want to go under the bridge, instead of over it as it is
intended.
